Module 2: Introduction to Oilfield & Drilling Operations and Equipment

In this program, employees will learn how a drilling rig drills a hole a well in the ground. They will learn about all the people it takes to run a rig and support a drilling operation; in addition, they will become familiar with the equipment, tools and services that a rig and the oilfield needs to do this job. After viewing this module, new and existing employees to the oilfield will be able to, at a minimum, explain that most drilling rigs drill for oil and gas, which are hydrocarbons. Employees will also be able to tell how geologists can use seismic tools to discover underground hydrocarbons, explain that oil companies (operators) hire drilling contractors to drill their wells, and explain that oil wells can form hundreds to thousands of feet deep and can take from a few days to several months to drill. They will also be able to identify oilfield equipment and its terminology, and be familiar with the various contract support companies and their roles. Length: 41 minutes

Module 3: Drilling Crews and Oilfield Support Personnel Duties and Responsibilities

This oilfield training programs provides vital knowledge of who does what in the oil and gas exploration process. Each member of the drilling contractor crew including the Operator, support personnel and service contractors are explained along with a hands-on demonstration of the types of work each perform. Upon completion of this program, a new or current employee will be able to describe the basic rotary drilling process, explain what a drilling contractor does and what an operating company is. Employees will also be familiar with the service supply companies provide and be aware of the many types of contract service companies and what vital functions they perform.

Soft tissue injury is the number one reason for lost time in the oilfield industry. This program can go a long way to elevate these injuries and to help speed the recovery of employees if they do suffer an injury, getting them back to work earlier. All lifting, pushing, and pulling job functions demonstrated are from actual job tasks performed within the oilfield industry. Such tasks include working with tongs, slips, wrenches, mud sacks, and activities like welding, painting, operating the drilling controls and even working in an office. Module 5: Hydrogen Sulfide Safety for the Oilfield Industry

This program will educate oilfield employees and contractors on how to recognize when Hydrogen Sulfide is present in their work area and to introduce the precautions necessary to work with Hydrogen Sulfide safely. This information will help fulfill the training requirements of API Recommended Practice 49, ANSI Z390.1 and other international regulatory standards.
