Cylinders are containers designed to store and transport compressed gases. Nitrogen, oxygen, propane and helium are just a few examples of gases that are stored and transported in cylinders. Cylinders come in various sizes and have valves and other fittings that are used to receive and deliver the gas. Problems may arise when cylinders or their fittings are damaged from overuse, misuse or accidents. Facilities which have cylinders on the premises must understand proper use of these vessels and be prepared to respond to an emergency involving either cylinders or the gases inside. |
