This course is intended to give students an appreciation of the Maritime Security System conceived by the IMO and to demonstrate how the various entities will work together. The relative roles of Contracting Governments, Recognized Security Organizations, the Company Security Officer, the Ship Security Officer, the Port Facility Security Officer, and other vessel and port security personnel are also discussed.
Specific information is provided on contracting governments, recognized security organizations, shipping companies, ships, port facilities, as well as those persons with security responsibilities.
